WINDOWS CE POWER SITE OF THE MONTH
Screen protectors from scratch
By Steve Niles

If scratches and abrasions on your Pocket PC or Palm-sized PC are driving you crazy, then check out Dale Coffing's Pocket PC Page. Among his many resources, you'll find a section devoted entirely to screen protectors. It's at http://www.iolnm.net/dcoffing/Casio/ScreenProtector/ScreenProtector.htm.

There you'll find step-by-step instructions on the application of a homemade screen protector. To make it easier to follow, Coffing includes plenty of pictures. See Figure A for some examples. There's also a template you can download, and a fancy bit of animation to demonstrate the actual application of the plastic protector.

Plenty of pictures are included to help illustrate the procedure. Roll over picture for a larger image.

After you've applied your screen protector, be sure to visit the site's homepage where you'll find links to some other great tips, such as how to increase the volume on a Casio device, how to build your own 12-volt car adapter, and how to jury-rig a battery extender.

Your site can earn this special banner
Do you run a special site, one that provides a great resource for Windows CE users? If so, your site may be eligible for consideration as the Windows CE Power Site of the Month. If chosen, you'll even be entitled to display the snazzy banner shown in Figure B.
