SyncTalk: beaming across the OS chasm (continued)
So, back to the earlier scenario where you are trying to make that "connection" with the hotshot Palm device user: is SyncTalk the answer to your prayers? Chances are… probably not. Think about it. 80% of all PDA users use Palm devices (though I'll bet that number gets smaller by the end of the year). Among themselves, they can do a lot more than transfer contact, appointment, or memo information without installing SyncTalk. Odds are against the random encounter with a Palm user that has bothered to purchase the application.
What it's good for It's much more reasonable that a group of people you work with on a regular basis, such as a project team that consists of several PDA users, would all use SyncTalk Professional to set meeting times or share notes while you are working face-to-face. The potential of beaming text also adds a whole new dimension to passing notes in school or behind your boss' back.
Conclusion If you've seen the commercial where the girl beams the guy her phone number using her Palm device and you're starting to have some visions of a cross-OS love affair… well, I'd say you were dreaming. But with SyncTalk, at least now you can dream.
