WINDOWS CE POWER SITE OF THE MONTH
Shore Systems
By Heather McDaniel

If you're in the market for Compact Flash cards you should definitely check out Shore Systems, July's Windows CE Power Magazine Site of the Month.

Shore Systems provides storage solutions to Windows CE users and those using digital imaging devices. They even provide storage cards to the Navy SEALs for use in digital cameras and handheld computers.

Shore Systems is a good place to go if you're a newbie to CompactFlash (CF) cards or if you want to learn more before you make a purchase. As you can see in Figure A, Shore Systems provides users with a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) for CF and digital storage products and their use in Windows CE devices.

Shore Systems' Web site can be viewed from any browser, including Pocket Internet Explorer. At the moment, the Shore Systems site is available in English and French. They expect to add a complete German and Italian site later this year.

It is interesting to note how the Web site was designed. The technical writing and information were put together by Bernard Torbik in California. The translation into French was done by Fred Bouvry, a palm-sized PC user in Belgium. The Web site, graphics, FrontPage work, and site maintenance were done in Quebec by Christian Morency. This international effort in the creation of the Web site leads Torbik to refer to Shore Systems' Web site "as the means by which we have become a virtual global corporation."

Shore Systems also features scenes from Belmont Shore, California, where the company is located. For a look at Belmont Shore and for more information on CompactFlash cards, be sure to visit http://www.shoresystems.net.
