WINDOWS CE POWER SITE OF THE MONTH
Windows CE for Students
By Heather McDaniel

Windows CE Power Magazine's very first Site of the Month is a site called the Windows CE for Students Place. Although it's a great resource for students, this site is surprisingly useful even for those of us who are no longer in school. Visit the Windows CE for Students Place at http://members.xoom.com/cestudent/ and you'll find all sorts of information about Windows CE ranging from the top 10 games to a Windows CE buying guide.

The reason why this site is called the Student's Place is because it's great place to find tools to organize class notes, tasks and schedules. There's even a program where students can print lab reports using graphs right from a handheld device.

As you can see in Figure A, this site offers another great advantage for students -- a "Reduced Price/Free Software Program for Students". This is the kind of resource we all wish we could have had when we were in school!

If you're a student, or play one on TV, you can save a few bucks at this site. Roll over picture for a larger image.

I tried out the chat room, but you need to be a member of Xoom.com to join. Registration is free, fast and painless. Once I registered and went back to the chat room, there wasn't anyone else to chat with. Kind of a bummer after seeing the other active resources. If you don't want to go into the chat room or there's no one to chat with, you can join an email list.

Overall, The Windows CE for Students Place is not a particularly visually attractive site, but it is a great resource for student-related Windows CE information, resources, and student discounts.

Your site can earn this special banner
Do you run a special site, one that provides a great resource for Windows CE users? If so, your site may be eligible for consideration as the Windows CE Power Site of the Month. If chosen, you'll even be entitled to display the snazzy banner shown in Figure B.
